About us
LiveFretboard was built by a guitarist who needed custom tunings, a visual fretboard, and practice tools — all in one free browser app.
A tuning I couldn't find anywhere
I'm Vishwas. Guitar is my hobby, and one day I wanted to learn "Never Meant" by American Football. The song uses FACGCE tuning — not something most tuner apps know about. I couldn't find a single website where I could type in a custom tuning and have the tuner calibrate to it. So I built one.
Built for how guitarists actually practice
LiveFretboard lets you enter any tuning and tune to it instantly — no presets required. Save your tunings so they're ready next time. The interactive fretboard shows notes in real time, with scales, a practice mode, and the circle of fifths. Everything runs in your browser with no account or installation.
A personal project, not a product
This is a hobby project built by one person. Pitch detection works one note at a time on your device — a quiet room helps. The highlighted fret position is an estimate when the same pitch appears at multiple frets. LiveFretboard is free, has no ads, and requires no account. If something breaks or you have an idea, reach out.
